Love in the time of COVID

 In Blog

How I miss our classes, our laughs, our connections and the sore core.  However it seems as soon as I start to be glum, there is another sign of love, compassion, or just a glimmer of a silver lining in all this.  I have NEVER Face Timed friends while SITTING (actually sitting) on my couch.  It has been a huge pause despite the fears and concerns of the Covid contagion.

A gentle reminder that fear is a projection of something not yet happening.  So, whenever you can…try and return to RIGHT NOW.  Use your sense of sight, smell, touch, sound.  Witness what is actually happening.  The smell of coffee.  The sight of your worn slippers. The feel of your knitted blanket.  Even the muffled sounds that you can hear outside.  Stay right here and access your senses when fear knocks on your door.  And oh…will it! So come back to here.

I miss you and guessing you miss one another. So if you haven’t tried our Virtual and Live classes, this week may be the time. Use it as a distraction and a source of connection. And guess what, it will tap into that beating heart of yours too.  We are scheduling them daily via Zoom. There is one I hope can be applicable to our Small Group Pilates Class called Healthy Heart.  It will air (man…does that ever like a camera chat) tomorrow at 11:30.  And you can see one another’s friendly faces too!

Another thing I learned from Eckhart Tolle last night as fear knocked on my door after a visit to Trader Joe’s…“As the ego weeps for what it has lost, the spirit rejoices for what it has gained”. Hoping you are finding small gifts in this time with the quietest you.
